Race Day

November 13th, 2009 by Shawn G

You can call me Race Day.  It’s the only name I’ve ever known.  My former owners gave me to the shelter in August, and I’ve been here ever since.
I’m really a loving boy.  I love people and do well with other cats.  I like to 1) be petted, 2) play, and 3) sleep – in that [...]

Wicket

November 6th, 2009 by Webmaster

I’m Wicket.  As you can see, I’m orange and white, with soft pink ears, pink nose, and, not to toot my own horn, the best whiskers the world has ever seen.  I’m a DSH (domestic short-hair), about 1 yr old, I’m great with other kitties, and I’m all boy.
My favorite place in the whole wide world [...]

Sue

October 16th, 2009 by Shawn G

I have a lovely temperament, too – very sweet and snuggly.  I like to perch on shoulders and give occasional kisses.  Because I have complete [...]

There are several myths about black cats, but in our experience as staff and volunteers at the shelter, we have found most black cats to be very affectionate and laid back.
Take Felix (please).  He is very loving and relaxed.  He loves to lay on a bed or window sill and snooze away, and he also [...]

Felix

September 14th, 2009 by Shawn G

My name is Felix, and I’m an ordinary black cat that has been at the shelter since April.  The longer I’m here, the more I eat, and now people ask if I’m pregnant!  How embarrassing.
I’m a young neutered male Domestic Short Hair, about a year and a half old.
I’m extremely lovable to people and other [...]

Lonely Hearts Club

August 24th, 2009 by Shawn G

Will there ever be a world without lonely hearts?
The Georgetown Animal Shelter has a Lonely Hearts Club  for cats and dogs that have been at the shelter for a long time – at least two months.  Adoption fees for these lonely animals are discounted $20.
