Senior Cat: M
M is a sweet male cat that was surrendered when his owners had to move. Can you imagine coming to a shelter after 10+ years in a home?! He is understandably nervous here but still accepts petting like a gentleman.
As a (somewhat) senior cat, M qualifies for the Senior-to-Senior program, which allows senior citizens to adopt senior animals at no charge. Often, people are looking for a calm pet, and senior animals just want a quiet home to spend their golden years and a warm lap and friendly face to love them back.
His previous owners say they named the cat M for Motormouth because he was quite talkative as a youngster. They described M as active, friendly to family and visitors, affectionate, talkative and playful.
M has been declawed so he must be an indoors-only cat. He is about 11 years old, a neutered orange and white Domestic Short Hair.
You can visit M at the Georgetown Animal Shelter. For more information on adopting from our shelter, visit our Adoption page.

Ginger

My name is Ginger, and I’m a pretty calico girl, about a year old.
According to the shelter staff, I have typical calico Attitude with a capital A – just because I’m not fond of other cats or dogs.
I’m plenty sweet though if it’s just me and you. Come see for yourself!

Amigo

Hello, my name is Amigo. Obviously my previous owner considered me a friend. I ended up at the shelter when he died recently.
I’m a male Corgi mix, about 4 years old. Like most Corgis, I’m somewhat excitable and energetic. Overall, I’m a very nice and sweet guy that just wants to be with people.

Leo

A benevolent ruler
They named me Leo the Magnificent. One little girl-visitor said I looked like Aslan from The Narnian Chronicles, and I don’t disagree.
I’m a male red Domestic Long Hair, about 2 years old. I’m very affectionate with people and tolerant of other cats.

Reece

My name is Reece. I’m a striking fellow, aren’t I? I look like a mix between an Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) and a Rat Terrier, and I’m a 20- lb. neutered male, about 5 years old.
I’m a kind of a busybody (someone’s got to be in charge!), and I’m very talkative in the shelter because there’s so much going on around me! I know basic commands. I’ve lived with kids and a female Lab, so I’m a well-rounded dude.
I’ve moved around a few times in my life. It seems like every time I get settled with new people, they give me to someone else. I surely would like a stable home with someone who loves me.

Missy

Hello there. My name is Missy, and I’m a female red Lab mix, 2-3 years old.
I came to the shelter with my two puppies – I was an excellent mother to them, but now they have been adopted and it’s my turn!
I’m housetrained, walk well on a leash, and get along with children and most other dogs. For fun, I like to run and explore, as well as cuddle.

Bling

My name is Bling. I’m looking for someone who will buy me some new jewels, at least a dazzling collar, and I’ll be your friend forever!
I’m a 5-month-old spayed female Domestic Short Hair, blue and white in color. My foster parents said that I’m playful and get along with other animals. Come visit me!

Bishop

You can call me Bishop. I’m a naturally playful, curious and trusting American Staffordshire mix. I’m all male (though neutered), about a year old.
I get along well with other dogs and children – I used to live with small dogs. I’m house trained, walk well on a leash and know “sit.” Just take me for a long walk every day, and then I’ll curl up on the couch with you looking for a belly rub.
It must be said that I am a talented escape artist, so a wrought iron fence or a covered run would be ideal.

Cassie

Jealous?
My name is Cassie, but you may address me as Your Highness. I like soft blankets and warm laps, the smell of caviar in the morning, reflections in glass (especially my own)…
My beautiful coloring is similiar to a Snowshoe cat, so I may be part-Siamese. They say I’m about 3 years old (I’ll never tell), and I’m a spayed female.
If you’d like to become my Subject, you may submit an application in person or online.
